                        You are arriving!

A spectacular boat ride from Puerto Vallarta along the emerald coast of the Bahia de Banderas and suddenly, like magic, the village of Yelapa and a beautiful beach with its palmed roof restaurants appear in front of you.

A very special place indeed as you notice that there are no cars, no roads, just donkeys and horses.
You disembark at Playa Isabel where Felipe, the caretaker, greets you and helps you with your luggage as he leads you on a 10 minutes walk along the water’s edge and up a hill towards your house.
Having past the gate you enter 2 acres of lush tropical garden with hundreds of bougainvilleas, hibiscus, palm trees everywhere, tropical fruit trees such as mangoes, grapefruits, mandarins, lemons, bananas… a few more steps and there it is.
                        You have arrived !!

                        Casa Coco and Coco Cabana

Nestled on the side of the mountain amidst luxuriant tropical vegetation teaming with wild exotic birds both houses offer panoramic vistas of the Pacific, the mountain, Puerto Vallarta and Punta Mita in the distance and the beach.

“Wahoo!”, “This is paradise!”, “Incredible!” or “What a View!” are often the first comments as people reach the terrace, with its lounge chairs, fronting either Casa Coco or Coco Cabana.
The views are spectacular and dramatic.  At night, as you sip a drink on one of the terraces, you hear the waves below breaking on the shore and, in the distance, the lights of the coast and the city as well as those of frequent cruise ships keep you mesmerized.
In season you may even be lucky to see the whales and dolphins play right below. Truly one of the best locations in Yelapa.

The casas are conveniently located a 15 min walk from Yelapa just enough to escape the substantial noise of the village life.

Casa Coco and Coco Cabana are designed to balance luxury and openness to nature. The furniture is Mexican in style with much hand carved wood and local art and craft. There are no windows but mahogany louvers for comfort and privacy...
From November to May days are sunny and dry with near zero likelihood of rain.  Temperature hovers in the 80's.  The village itself gets much hotter than at Coco Cabana and Casa Coco where the temperature is very comfortable with mostly a very light ocean breeze making the nights pleasantly cool.

As you probably know June to October is the rainy season.  Typically the rain comes in late afternoon sometimes through the night with hot and sunny mornings.   Be aware however that mother nature may also decide on rain and more rain!

Both houses, although quite separate from each other and each quite private, are close enough to be combined which makes it ideal for family reunions or groups of friends who want to be together for a vacation of a lifetime.

For your entertainment radio/cd/I-pod players, games and some reading material are available in each villa.  Casa Coco offers a DVD player and monitor.

Both houses are equipped with land line telephones and  llocal phone calls are complementary.

Blackberries and other smart phones work from both houses although you probably will not get reception in the village proper. It is the most convenient way to correspond by emails.

Towels, bed sheets, soap, shampoo/conditioner and body lotions will be provided.

Daily light cleaning service is included

As a convenience to our guests, for a reasonable fee, we offer the option to have your fridge stocked upon your arrival.  This option is quite popular with our guests.

Cooking and transport services are available upon request.  We highly recommend Yanet, the house cook, who gets rave reviews for her Mexican cooking.

Our caretaker can assist you in planning your activities in Yelapa such as sight-seeing, para gliding, kayaking, sailing, horseback riding, fishing, trekking, swimming, snorkeling.

We want to emphasize that due to their architectural design and openness to nature neither house is advisable for young children.

Please be aware that Yelapa is nestled between the ocean and the jungle with an incredible wild life right at our door.  Jaliscan fauna includes a number of impressive creatures such as ocelots, armadillos, land turtles, foxes, deers and raccoons among others.
The birders among you will be delighted.  You may spot royal eagles, scissor-tail frigates and doves or more exotic species such as Beryl line Hummingbird, Laughing Falcon, Lilac-crowned Parrot, Scarlet Macaw.
Expect to see lizards of many kinds including the spectacular iguana.  Two of them have taken up residence at Casa Coco.
Unfortunately scorpions are also indigenous to the region.  We do our best to spray and treat to keep them away from the house and its immediate surroundings and so far we have not had a problem.  Nevertheless they do exist.

You should not consider staying in Yelapa or anywhere outside urban areas of Mexico if you are medically or visually highly sensitive to such creatures.
